Rob Sanders, PGA 

General Manager/Head Golf Professional

Rob is a front range Colorado native.  His family includes his wife Elizabeth and three children Ty, Weston, and Sam.  He has a Sports Medicine Degree with an emphasis in Business Management from BYU Idaho.  His work experience includes semi-private, private, resort, and public golf courses.    In 2006 he was elected to membership to the PGA and has completed the Certified Professional Program in General Management, Golf Operations & Golf Instruction.  Rob has competed on the National stage when his team from Devil’s Thumb Golf Club took 1st place at a local qualifier and earned the right to represent Colorado at Pinehurst, NC for the McGladrey Team National Championship.  “Devils Thumb Golf Club is dedicated to providing a country club experience at a public price.”   

Bernie Blan, PGA  

1st Assistant Golf Professional/Food & Beverage Manager

Bernie turned Pro in 2005 where he started his career as an apprentice Head Professional at Trinidad Golf Course.  Bernie was elected to PGA Membership in September of 2009.  His responsibiliities at Devil’s Thumb Golf Club include:  golf instruction for juniors and beginning golfers and is the manager of the food & beverage department.  Bernie's family includes his wife Angel and his children Justin and Kaytie. 

Nathaniel Wood

2nd Assistant Golf Professional

Nate was born and raised in Hotchkiss, Colorado.  He is a graduate from Adams State with a degree in Human Performance and Physical Education with an emphasis in Sports Administration. He started in the golf business at Cattails Golf Course in Alamosa, Colorado in 2008 and has joined the staff of Devil's Thumb Golf Club in 2009.  Nate has deceided to turn pro and enter the PGA Business program this year.  Parents are Michael and Elaine Wood of Hotchkiss, CO and has a sister, Samantha.

Dave Hadley

Turf Care Head Superintendant

Dave has been involved in golf course turf management since 1989.  His family includes his wife Pauline and two children, Sophia and Thomas.  Dave attended the Lake City (FL) Golf Course Operations Program earning an Associate in Science degree.  His work experience includes The Pinery in Parker, Aspen Glen Club and River Valley Ranch in Carbondale, and most recently the construction and management of the Pete Dye course at Promontory in Park City, Utah.  "Being back in Colorado at a great layout like Devil's Thumb is very exiting.  Our goal is to provide playing conditions that feel like a private golf club"

Dan Showalter

Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Dan grew up in Delta and has lived in Colorado all his life. Dan was a frequent player at the old Cottonwood Golf Course in Delta as a kid.   He Started working on the golf course maintenance staff at Cottonwood in 2000 until it closed in 2001.  Dan attended the Master Gardener Program and has studied Landscape Architecture at CSU.  He started at Devil’s Thumb in 2002 as the Irrigation Foreman.  In 2008 Dan was promoted to Assistant Superintendent.  In his spare time Dan enjoys fishing, hiking, and restoring his favorite vehicles.
